April 1, 2009 - Debbie Hendsbee, Wardrop’s Business Development Manager of the Resource Management Division, was elected to serve on the board of directors of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).
“PDAC’s objectives and dedication to strong ethics parallel those of Wardrop and will be strengthened by the dedication to excellence that Debbie will bring to her new role as a member of the PDAC board,” says senior vice-president Brent Thompson.
Debbie was one of 20 candidates vying for vacancies on the PDAC’s board of directors. The voting was conducted by eligible members of the PDAC and the results were announced at the PDAC’s annual convention in March.
In 2001, Debbie was charged with expanding markets for Wardrop’s mining division. Her success is largely based on moving the business unit from a geographically-based division to a market-focused division. “Debbie is an enthusiastic leader within our organization and her knowledge and fortitude will be a great benefit to the PDAC organization,” Brent boasts.
As Business Development Manager for the Resource Management Division, she is responsible for the company’s national and global marketing strategy and development as it relates to the mining and minerals sector.
PDAC represents the interests of the Canadian mineral exploration and development industry and has more than 6,000 individual members along with 950 corporate members.
