Wardrop has undertaken numerous projects for international and national companies in the Oil & Gas Sector over the past 30 years. We have standing offer contracts with several Canadian integrated oil companies to provide ongoing engineering services at a variety of their facilities. Typical assignments include:
- Mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, geotechnical and environmental projects at refineries and bulk storage facilities including new pipelines, piping modifications, pumps, tank inspection and repairs, fire protection, and system automation
- Design of petroleum, oil and lubricants, and liquefied petroleum gas storage facilities including environmental, mechanical and structural engineering for tanks, underground pipelines, transfer pumps, an d unloading and dispensing systems including vapour recovery and flare systems
- Design and construction of gas and petroleum products pipelines including inter-provincial pipeline surveys and right of way clearing, line caps, nitrogen purging, compressor stations, valves, meters, ballistic type meter provers and computers, instrumentation, pump-out and product transfer systems, and scrapper traps and accessories for sending and receiving pipeline cleaning and monitoring “pigs”
- Design and inspection of ULC fuel storage tanks and API tanks for major fuel distributors including ultrasonic t hickness measurements of tank shells, nozzles and roof plates, magnetic particle inspection and vacuum box testing of welds, and measurement of pitting to calculate corrosion rates for estimation of the remaining life, and certified tank inspections to API 653
- Fuel handling facilities including storage, pumping, piping and accessories, automatic metering and flow control, inventory management systems, flow rate ramping, automatic additive and dye addition, automated blending systems using card readers, pollution control systems, industrial waste treatment and oil/water separators for specialised applications including remote short range radar stations, rail car loading facilities, rail fuelling systems and tank truck loading facilities.
