TORONTO, ON, October 14, 2008 …Wardrop Engineering Inc. is recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, and is the only engineering firm to be honoured with this distinction for eight years since the program first started in 2000.
“We take great pride in this distinction. It is indeed a privilege to be included amongst these top Canadian companies,” said Shayne Smith, CEO of Wardrop, who added that the recognition helps to position Wardrop as an employer of choice in the engineering consulting industry.
Editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers evaluate firms on a variety of criteria including: Work Atmosphere & Social, Community Involvement and Performance Management to identify the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. More than 75,000 recruitment histories were reviewed, and of those firms, 16,000 were invited to participate in the full selection process. The results are published in the October 13th edition of MacLean’s magazine.
Brent Thompson, president of Wardrop, also responded to the accolades, “We are honoured that our company is one of the fastest growing companies in our industry. We’re also so very proud of the hard work, dedication and efforts of our employees and the work we’ve been able to do to make improvements that allowed us to earn this privilege.”
Some of the highlights for which Wardrop was recognized in the selection process include:
Earlier this year, Wardrop was privileged to receive the Best Employers for New Canadians award, which recognizes organizations with a proven history of international recruitment and who have worked to reduce employment barriers and aid newcomers with education, as well as, language and cultural integration. This award is sponsored by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council in partnership with Mediacorp Canada.
